This is a WS Grade 1 event, sailed in identically matched IOD sloops on the Hamilton Harbour adjacent to the Royal Bermuda Yacht Club, Barr's Bay Park and The Hamilton Princess Hotel & Beach Club. Then venue brings world-class match racing close to shore where spectators can easily watch the competition.

This is a WS Grade 1 event, sailed in identically matched IOD sloops on the Hamilton Harbour adjacent to the Royal Bermuda Yacht Club, Barr's Bay Park and The Hamilton Princess Hotel & Beach Club. Then venue brings world-class match racing close to shore where spectators can easily watch the competition.There are eleven international Top 15 world ranked skippers and their crews along with one Bermudian skipper and crew this year set to compete in some very intense racing.

First Stage: The competitors will compete in a round robin (each skipper will sail against the other eleven skippers).

Second Stage: The top four skippers will go forward to the Quarter Finals and the remaining eight skippers will compete in a repechage. The top four skippers of the repechage will go into the Quarter Finals on Friday.

Third and Fourth Stage: the Quarter Finals and Semi-finals are both a first-to-three points knock-out series. The leading two teams of the Quarter Finals will move on to the Finals whilst the two runner up's move to the Petite Finals.

Fifth Stage: The Finals and Petite Finals take place on Saturday. The day starts with the Petite Finals which is a first-to-two points knock-out series. Following the Petite Finals and time willing, will see the Optimists race their final race of the RenaissanceRe Junior Gold Cup will take place in Hamilton Harbour.

The two leading skippers and their crews will then go head to head in the Finals, a first-to-three point knock-out series to determine the winner of the 2019 Argo Group Gold Cup and the recipients of the King Edward VII Gold Cup to be presented in a Prize Presentation which takes place forty-five minutes after racing on the RoyalBermuda Yacht Club Terrace.
